Pokemon Shiny Odds Calculator

Estimate your cumulative chance of seeing at least one shiny after many attempts.

Use this Pokemon shiny odds calculator to estimate the cumulative chance of finding a shiny after repeated attempts. It works well for long hunts, resets, egg sessions, encounter tracking, and comparing how different methods change your odds over time.

Enter the base odds denominator, any bonus multiplier, and the total number of attempts. The tool turns that into the chance per encounter, the chance you have already seen at least one shiny, and the chance of still having none.

This helps separate real probability from the feeling of being especially lucky or unlucky during a hunt.

Use 1 as the standard bonus. If a method triples the odds, enter 3.

Use clear inputs to get a more useful result.

The calculation uses the complement rule: chance of at least one shiny = 1 - (chance of no shiny in one attempt)attempts. That works well when each encounter can be treated as an independent event with the same odds.

If your game or method changes the odds during the hunt, such as chains, event boosts, or stage-based bonuses, treat the result as a simplified estimate and recalculate for each phase when needed.

When you use a bonus multiplier, the tool reduces the effective denominator of the base odds. For example, 1 in 4096 with a 3× bonus becomes an effective 1 in 1365.33 for the estimate.
