The Furniture Ideal Depth Calculator helps carpenters, designers and customers set the standard depth of cabinets, shelves, niches and counters in each room, taking use, ergonomics and market standards into account.
Pick the room (kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, office, living, shoe rack or laundry) and the type of furniture, and the tool shows the minimum, recommended and maximum depth, plus a practical woodworking tip. If you provide the planned height and width, it also estimates the internal volume in litres so you can check how much the piece will actually hold.
