Drawer Volume Calculator (Litres)

See how many litres fit in a drawer based on the outer dimensions and material thickness.

The Drawer Volume Calculator shows how many litres fit in a cabinet drawer, considering the outer dimensions (width, height and depth) and subtracting the thickness of the five walls (bottom, front, back, sides and, optionally, a false bottom) to reach the real usable volume.

To use it, enter the outer width, height and depth in millimetres and the material thickness (usually 15 mm for standard MDF). The tool shows the external volume in litres, the usable volume after subtracting the walls, the base area in square metres and the internal yield percentage.

Use the result to compare projects, check whether a drawer will fit cutlery, clothes or specific items, and estimate the total volume of a set of drawers. Combine this reading with a physical check, because internal dividers and runners eat into volume too.

The thickness is subtracted from the two sides, the bottom and the front to reach the usable volume. Use 15 mm for standard MDF or the actual project value.
