Cut Plan Optimizer for Wood and MDF

Lay out your furniture parts on a sheet and see the yield before you cut.

The Cut Plan Optimizer for Wood and MDF helps carpenters, hobbyists and cabinet makers arrange the parts of a project inside a standard sheet, accounting for the saw kerf and allowing each piece to be rotated to improve material usage.

To use, enter the sheet dimensions in millimetres, the saw kerf and add each part with a name, length, width and quantity. The tool applies a first-fit decreasing height algorithm to stack the parts, shows an SVG preview, calculates the used area, the leftover total and flags any parts that did not fit so you can resize them or plan a second sheet.

Use the result as a starting reference for your project: the plan shows how the parts are arranged, how many horizontal shelves are needed and the expected material yield percentage. Combine this reading with a physical dry-run before sending the sheet to the saw.

The kerf is considered between parts when laying them out.
